In an earlier posting, I promised to show more images of the delightful village of Ramsbury, near Swindon in Wiltshire. So here's a further taste of life in this glorious region of the UK . . .
Above is a wonderful example of a thatched roof which has come to be symbolic of England. (Pity about the modern street lamp though!)
And here is a close-up of the actual thatching - quite an art !
These two cottages and their front gardens just caught my attention
and begged to be photographed as a reminder of a delightful afternoon's stroll through the village.

Lovely English scenery. How lucky for you to have taken a stroll through that village.
Love those thatched cottages - they have a unique & special character. Interesting to see the thatch close up and I could imagine many hours of detailed work would have gone into the construction of these quaint roofs.
It does look quite lovely there and such a pleasant stroll!
