After an absence of almost 40 years, it was a dream come true to be able
to revisit in 2009 the country of my birth. (While I am very grateful to now be an
Australian citizen, there still lingers this strong sense of "belonging" in England.)
The shot above was taken within the grounds of Dover Castle.
On our arrival in England, we stayed with friends in Kent and were
treated to wonderful long walks along pathways such as this, on high land
overlooking glorious green fields.
.... and in Canterbury (while being rowed by an athletic Uni student earning
some holiday cash), this delightful family captured our attention.

England is so lucky to have such a wonderful network of footpaths, but only people from other lands can fully appreciate how fortunate we are.
From the exotic in Singapore to the familiar (to me) in England - lovely to see what catches your eye.
It must have been wonderful to visit. Some of the Adelaide Hills area bears a similarity to England, more so than much of the rest of Australia.
