Seaside Reflections

Taken at sunrise today - a beautiful, refreshing morning - from the Henley Jetty with my photography buddy, after which we indulged in a scrumptious breakfast outdoors at a seaside cafe, watching other early risers out walking their dogs, launching canoes, swimming or riding bikes.  A delightful way to round off a blessed year! Happy New Year to all fellow bloggers and thanks for the pleasure you've brought my way.

Clouds & Games

I was reminded here of a game we played as kids, laying on our backs on the lawn, looking up at the clouds to see what shapes we could make out: this one has me stumped!

The ocean's beauty

These shots were taken from Granite Island looking back across Lady Bay, adjacent to Victor Harbor on the south coast of South Australia. It's a popular holiday and retirement region, with Clydesdale horses pulling a tram carrying visitors across the bridge from the mainland - a delightful and relaxing environment.
(Happy New Year to all - getting in early to avoid the rush !!)

Walking off the Christmas Day intake!!

It was a fabulous day yesterday (Boxing Day) here in Adelaide - temp about 24 degrees Centigrade and a refreshing zephyr of a breeze - so off for a walk with  a good friend and my dog Jessie along the Linear Park which follows the Torrens River from the Adelaide Hills down to the coast. I'm convinced we came back pounds lighter and 2" shorter!! but it was delightful.
(After examining this shot, I now understand why the best photos are taken in the morning or evening, not at the height of the sun - but thought I'd post it anyway!)

Thinking of another stable . . .

This shot was taken in the region of Port Elliot in southern South Australia.
At this time of year, it brings to my mind the real reason for this season - the celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.
Wishing all photo bloggers a wonderful, happy, safe and meaningful Christmas and many thanks for the pleasure you bring to my days with your photographic skills.

Adelaide's suburban north

Am greatly blessed to live in an environment that still retains some of its natural beauty, combined with sensitivity by property developers in their designing of suburbs.

Flowering Gums . . .

I spotted these brilliant flowering gums in the car park of my local library today and - I'm ashamed to admit - my camera wasn't with me (still home on the desk after uploading shots taken over the weekend), so snapped this with my Samsung Galaxy S iphone.

A walk in the park . . . .

These shots were the result of a decision, with my friend, to go for a walk in a local park despite a forecast of inclement weather. We got damp, not drenched, and it turned into a sunny, blue-skied day after all.

Picturesque Tasmania

How thankful I am to have sight and continually marvel at God's creation which (in the words of an old song) "fill up my senses".

An "explosive" sunset . . .

Taken through the window of a car on the move, New Year's Eve several years ago - it seemed to me at the time as if an explosion had occurred on the horizon.

Up close and personal....?

This was one of several swans on the River Torrens in Adelaide's CBD that was keen to see whether we had any food!

My Jessie

Spoilt? Who, me? Naw - it's only a rumour !!
(This is Jessie, my Shih-Tzu/Lhasa Apso cross, who was 7 months old when this snap was taken - she has since had her first clip and will be 1 year old in 3 weeks' time)

Just below the surface . . .

These tree reflections in a rather large puddle caught my attention recently in a nearby creekside park while my friend and I dodged some showers on our photographic outing, before heading off to a delightful local cafe for a hot chocolate!
