A hint of warmth

~ Non-breeding Intermediate Egret ~

As we in the southern hemisphere are experiencing (for us) a cold Winter,
it seemed appropriate to post an image taken in the midst of last Summer.
Taken early morning in the Greenfield Wetlands, on a day
when temperatures reached the 40's (C).

A Winter's Walk

This was taken in the same area as that of my previous post
and the reflections show the clouds breaking up to reveal blue skies.

Hoping y'all have a marvellous weekend!

What lies beyond....?

A recent outing to Adelaide's foothills found us in some
delightful (and to me, previously unexplored) "territory".

The grey skies cleared up and the promised rain held back
as the charm of the area revealed itself . . .

. . . another gum flower from the tree above rests on a leaf
of the nasturtium "carpet" below.

Anyone for Coffee?

An imaginative redesign of a former ticket office at
an Adelaide suburban railway station, where the proprietors
blend and roast their chosen coffee beans on the premises.

There's a roaring open fireplace and a great ambience for
catching up with friends (or even going solo)
- it's well worth the visit (and not just for the coffee!).

An assortment of enamel water jugs and mugs,
(like those used by the guards on trains in times past)
with chilled water on tap is available for patrons.

Botanic archives

Having been totally focussed recently on completing a photobook
for a special friend's "significant" birthday, I've not been as active with
blogging and have missed catching upon all your beautiful images!

For today's post I've created a collage from some archived images
I took of the Amazonian Lily in Adelaide's Botanic Gardens -
I hope you enjoy them.

Decisions, decisions!

I just couldn't decide which of these reflections to post, so apologies for the "overkill" !

A humble vine

I think this is commonly referred to as "potato vine" (but happy
to be corrected by those more in the know botanically).
[It beckoned me from the fence of a property overlooking the creek
I photographed in my previous post]

Seasonal confusion?

A wonderful day's outing in the Adelaide foothills yesterday revealed some new territory for me, kindly introduced - and shared - by my good photography friend.

Although we are now in our second month of Winter, one could be forgiven for believing (at least visually) that Autumn is still with us.
