Flowering Gums . . .

I spotted these brilliant flowering gums in the car park of my local library today and - I'm ashamed to admit - my camera wasn't with me (still home on the desk after uploading shots taken over the weekend), so snapped this with my Samsung Galaxy S iphone.

It still came out very well! I love gum flowers and gum nuts. SA seems to have a lovely variety of the larger colourful flowering gums too.

Looks great! And you know you have the heart of an artist when you apologize for not having your camera with you! :-)

The phone turns out a decent image. What curious blooms - we don't have anything like that here. They look like something you might see under the sea.

To Jenny: I hadn't noticed it before, but you're right - there is a vague resemblance to sea anenomes.
