Tomorrow's promise

Another glorious sky viewed from Comox on Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada in February this year.

Praying for the safety of all those affected by the fires in this gorgeous Province.

Comox sunset

Fast-forwarding from my previous posts, these shots were taken on my last evening in Comox, where I enjoyed a delicious meal with a good friend at the Black Fin Pub.

A brief respite

Following yet another day of temperatures hovering around 40C with high humidity,
I sought refuge at Semaphore beach with a friend.
On the 20-minute drive there, we almost pulled over to the side of the road
because the rainstorm we'd come into was so fierce the windscreen wipers were
going at full pace.  However, we persevered and, by the time we'd arrived at
Semaphore, the rain had passed.

So here are some scenes from that spell of welcome relief from the oppressive heat . . . .

I was surprised to see this Pelican on a suburban beach - they are usually more often found around the inland rivers

There were a surprising number of crabs along the shoreline too - such as this Blue Swimmer

Wherever you are around the globe, I pray you are experiencing peace, laughter, love and appreciation of your extraordinary surroundings.

Fabulous Fleurieu

Recently I visited a cousin who lives at Encounter Bay, near Victor Harbour on the fabulous Fleurieu Peninsula in South Australia.
We drove to Petrel Cove and this was the scene from the carpark....

On the Victor Harbour side of the Bluff, I aimed my camera at this boat and its passengers - imagine my surprise, after uploading the image and zooming in, to notice the passengers had been deeply engrossed checking out their smartphones!!

. . . and this Magpie dropped by as we stood in the carpark

A lovely day's outing in good company in my very favourite part of our State.

Kaleidoscopic clouds

The following images were all taken on the same day last weekend - the first two were at sundown and the last mid-afternoon.

Day's ending

I only saw this sky because its reflected glow bathed the courtyard at the front of my home - I bet it looked a treat from the seashore (less than half an hour's drive away).

Thank you for the joy you've brought to my days with your marvellous photography.

Out of the archives!

This shot comes out of my archives!  It features the Carillon on the edge of Lake Burley Griffin in Canberra, Australian Capital Territory, and was taken in 1970 (probably with a Kodak Instamatic!!)

Up, up & away ....

... couldn't resist posting these two shots taken as my flight approached Auckland
New Zealand - that blue sky and sea are so "electric"!

Victoria Harbour, BC

Was thrilled, following an unanticipated visit to Victoria, BC, to have
arrived at the Harbour just on sunset.

Blast from the past!

A ribboned Sunrise

I was fascinated by this white "ribbon" of light just above the landscape
as dawn broke just after 7 a.m. a few weeks ago.

Last minute sighting

At the conclusion of my afternoon's impromptu outing on our recent holiday Monday
(marking Queen Elizabeth II's birthday),
I was about to step into my car when this scene "jumped out at me" from
the car's side window.

Another day passes

As Jessie (my dog) was racing around the oval chasing ball and birds, I looked up and enjoyed the sun reflecting on the underside of the clouds ..... another day draws to a close. What excitement will tomorrow bring?!

The Heavens Declare . . .

Returning home from the garden centre earlier this week, mid-afternoon, I just had to pull the car over to capture this shot of the sun bursting through this bunch of clouds. (Taken with my Samsung Galaxy smartphone, it being too hot to bring out my Nikon!).

A thundery finish

Soon after these shots were taken at dusk earlier this week, we had a VERY loud thunderstorm but precious little rain.  The sky was so fiery, it was as if a bushfire had got out of control - thankfully that wasn't the case!
