Pink Hibiscus

In the course of walking around my village recently, the lighting on this Hibiscus caught my eye.
There is an abundance of this flower amongst the homes, in a wide variety of colours, but I really like the soft pastel tones of this one.

From a critical photographic perspective, I acknowledge that the sun's glare on the right hand side of the shot below is too harsh, but nevertheless felt the play of shadow and central display of the bloom was interesting.

Hope you've all had a good week and, once again, my thanks to the wonderful
hosts of the various themed blog sites.

A beautiful flower that is disappearing from the many manicured landscapes in our neighbourhood, which is a great pity because the plant is drought-tolerant and of a practical size. Have a lovely weekend.

It'll be awhile yet before we see any Rose of Sharon bloom in East Tennessee since we're in the Northern Hemisphere. Soon our seasons will change up, but do y'all ever get really cold weather in Australia? Thanks for sharing such a cheery picture with us SWF fans. Have a fototastic weekend, Valerie!

Cathy: Parts of Australia experience sufficiently cold weather to enable a snow skiing season in Winter, but even then our temperatures do not reach the low extremes endured by our Northern Hemisphere cousins. (our "endurance" comes during Summer when South Australia's day-time temperatures often reach 40C with overnight "lows" of mid 20Cs).
