Coniston, UK

Pretty cottage in Coniston (England's Lake District) . . . .

. . . there was an abundance of Azaleas/Rhododendron blooms in this region (apologies to the real gardeners out there who can easily distinguish between these two!!)

. . . and was thrilled when this little beauty posed for me after I'd stopped the car to admire the bluebells.

That is a beautiful cottage!

Your previous post is heartbreaking. My city went through this with a wildfire in 2012 that destroyed 347 homes (and nearly the office in which I work), and a wildfire in 2013 which destroyed 486 homes; each one killed two people. We were evacuated from our home in the 2013 fire (you can read about both on my blog by clicking the wildfire tag on its right column). I wish you the best and pray for the firefighters.

A beautiful cottage and garden. I look forward to the Spring and maybe visiting the Lake District again.

Lovely English gardens especially the pretty Blubell Woods .

Lush, colourful and green - a far cry from the horrendous fires and weather that you are currently enduring in South Australia. Our thoughts and prayers are with the firefighters and all those affected or threatened by these fires.

Those pictures are lovely – the little birdie is my favorite. Although I do like the cottage too, but then I also like the flowers – well I like them all!

The bluebells behind the bird are beautiful. Looks like you were there in nice spring/summer weather.

I used to live very close to Coniston - and would walk on the Fells near it most weeks!

We were back in the UK last year, and I was able to take the kids up The Old Man - the large hill behind Coniston.

We have had some good rain over night - and they keep saying more is on the way.

Cheers - Stewart M - Melbourne
