Walk with me ...

One of several walks I regularly enjoyed in Comox (mid Vancouver Island in British Columbia, Canada) was through Brooklyn Creek Greenway which connected to
Mack Laing Park.

The following images were captured in June 2018 but it was a very
different scene two weeks ago as an unusually cold Winter
brought lots of snow -  but I'll share those images with you another day.

This is the access stairway from Balmoral Avenue

 Funghi

More funghi - is it just my crazy distorted imagination,
or is that a warped and sad face I see on that trunk ??!!

 Gateway to ..... ?

Always a delightful place to visit, bringing with it a wonderful
sense of serenity and appreciation for nature's beauty
I hope you get to visit sometime.

Bubbles

While out on a walk last month in Comox, I spotted these bubbles . . .

and here's the same shot treated with Picasa's Auto Contrast option . . .

The snow and ice began to melt

. . .  and in nearby woods I saw this funghi on a tree wearing a crystal crown!

Thawing out

Of course a trip to the snow was a must while in Victoria, so I enjoyed
a superb day at Mt Baw Baw in perfect conditions (well, for a photographer anyway!)
. . . . but more of that tomorrow.

Meanwhile, this growth thawing out on a branch caught my eye -

as did these icicles on the roof of the restaurant where I lunched on a delicious
lemon/lime chicken with chilli couscous topped with yoghurt
as I took in the wonderful view!

Italian Cherries

These cherries were growing on the property of the exchange home in Central Italy visited last year with a friend. Also growing were wine grapes, olives, figs and apples.

Funghi

One morning last month while running my Jessie on a local oval, I spotted these unusual funghi.

Wishing you all a wonderful week ahead.

A crazy chick !

This crazy chick was spotted on the edge of the lake within Biddulph Grange gardens (posted last month). Not much chance of losing its balance with those HUGE feet! - and no, it hasn't been "photoshopped".  (I wondered whether it might be a swamp hen chick)

Not sure that this image truly qualifies as a macro shot, but I'll submit it anyway to
Macro Monday 2 and Camera Critters - with thanks to the hosts of both sites.

Iris + "friends" at Giverny

This gorgeous Bearded Iris caught my attention as we sauntered through the charming village in Giverny on our way to Monet's Garden, where further delights awaited.......

There are way too many gorgeous blooms captured during that outing to include in one post, so I will spread them out over coming weeks.

Meantime I hope you will also visit the following memes to feast your eyes on the contributions of fellow bloggers.  Enjoy!

After the snow ...

Spotted this fascinating "blossom" within Gowlland Tod Provincial Park on Vancouver Island
(which has subsequently been identified as "clematis vitalbae" - many thanks to fellow blogger, MaryAustria)

... and here the Tod Inlet is frozen over

(a regular visitor to the park who was there on the day commented that she has lived
in the area for more than 20 years and has never seen this occur before)

..some funghi

and a frozen/thawing creek

aahh.... so many delights on which to feast the eyes (and camera lens)!
