Carrickalinga Pt 1

Have just returned from a wonderfully relaxing few days in my very favourite part of South Australia - the Fleurieu Peninsula.
The following images convey just some of the delights this area has to offer.

Above is one section of Carrickalinga's beach

a cheeky Willie Wagtail (fan tail) seemed to follow us on one of our walks

Ingalalla Waterfall, just 10 or so kms inland from Carrickalinga

The southern end of Carrickalinga

Just a few of the gorgeous flowers in the area - Protea, (unknown), Hibiscus, Leucadendron and Banksia

. . . . and the northern end of Carrickalinga, where the dark, ridged rocks running into the sea resemble a moonscape

Hoping your week is going well, wherever you are, and linking up with

It is all beautiful - little Willie Wagtail, flowers, waterfall and especially the beaches - although they look lots colder than up here. It would be fascinating to search through some of that sea wrack spread over the beach. Thanks for sharing.

Sadly we ran out of time to get to this area on our trip a couple of years ago - next time.

Beautiful captures especially the top pic with the late afternoon sun alighting on golden grasses in the foreground.

Stunning beauty!! I can see why it's a favorite are for you to visit and re-visit.

Love it all, but the favorite of mine in your post today is the rocky beaches. We don't have that in my part of the world....all SAND.

Beautiful pictures; everything is so colorful and bright. Love that wagtail -- such a great name; I know just what it's behavior is like from the name (it isn't a bird we have here at all).

If everybody would see this ...maybe they would take a little better care of our world.
