Rural, rustic rambling . . .

A pleasant, carefree Sunday afternoon's drive through the beautiful Adelaide hills revealed this rusty outbuilding adjacent to a lush vineyard close to Gumeracha, and we just couldn't drive past it!

Although the weather was very ominous at the start of our journey, the rain cleared, the clouds blew away and it turned out quite warm and our drive took us further than initially expected, but brought some interesting photographic opportunities along the way.

Quite a contrast Valerie, between the lime green of the vineyard and the olive blue of the eucalypt forest in the backgroud. I love them both in their own way.

That drive through the Adelaide Hills around Gumeracha is very pretty. We were there a few months ago. Love the colour contrast in that shot.

Very pretty and lush! Is there there a winery for wine tastings nearby? Lovely photo!

Oh! I do love that splash of rust amongst the green of the vine-yard. A delightful capture of a picturesque place.

Eileen: (apologies for the delay in responding). Yes, there is a nearby winery - Chain of Ponds Winery which was established in 1985. They use grapes from the surrounding region and produce a wide variety of wines, including chardonnay, merlot, rose, cabernet-shiraz, sauvignon blanc, semillon and pinot noir to name a few! It seemed better to save the tasting til another day, to ensure our photos weren't blurry!! Thanks for your interest.
