Braving the elements

This was taken back in June, at the beginning of our Winter
("down under") and both surfing and beach fishing are popular at Waitpinga on South Australia's Fleurieu Peninsula.
It was a sunny but blustery day with temperatures in the low 'teens (and that was on land - I wouldn't want to have been standing in that chilling water for long, but these fellows were obviously hoping to catch the big one, possibly salmon trout)

Linking up with others from around the world at

A lovely photo but I'd have to be very hungry before I'd fish like that!

Beautiful scene. Feels a bit like a painting!

That wind can really pick up over the ocean. Even our small lake seems to generate its own breeze when the air is otherwise quiet.

Oh Valerie, what a fantastic view! One of my favourite beaches in SA. I used to surf there (on a body board).
