Hi, Happy New Year! I thought the amazon lily has very wide leaves, now i have to check it in my head. Beautiful.

These water lilies have sharp, star-like flowers. A bit different from the ones I know.

Re your recent question: I have not yet digitized my own or my family's old 35mm slides, so I can't give you any recommendations from my own first hand knowledge. But, Walt Mossberg (the Wall Street Journal's tech writer) wrote an article about one service that does this. A pretty capture of this gorgeous blue-lotus flower .... always a delight to the eyes when visiting the pavilion.

Just gorgeous - these are some of my favourite blooms.

Kalantikan: You're right - the Amazon Lily does have broad leaves. This particular bloom, however, is a Blue Nile waterlily (Nymphaea caerulea) which shares the pond with the Amazon Lily, whose broader leaf can be seen in the top right hand side of the shot. Thanks for stopping by.
Jack: Many thanks for the tip - I'll be sure to check out that site.

Really lovely composition with those big round shapes contrasting with the roots and the flowers themselves.
It is many years since I visited Adelaide and the Gardens - I must go there again soon.
