Lotus flower's lifespan

During a recent visit to Adelaide's Botanic Gardens, my photography buddy led me towards the Lotus Pond. The above collage represents what seemed to me to be the various life stages of the beautiful Lotus flower.

with thanks to Denise and the team.

Very pretty, Valerie. I don't remember seeing lotus flowers. I probably have, I just don't know the difference between lotus flowers and water lilies.

Have a wonderful adventure in 2013.

Flowers come and go so quickly, yet we still marvel at their beauty. Lovely photos Valerie!

Love botanical gardens.. The Conservatory I just posted about was a great place to go and get out of the snow for awhile. LOL

Thats time lapse without the time! Nice idea.

The mountains in the back ground are The You Yangs. And I think that they would be pleased you called them mountains.

The lotus is very beautiful at each stage, even the seed head. I wonder how long it takes to go through these stages.
