Amazon Lily

I was entranced by this amazing water lily in Adelaide's Botanic Gardens

Wow what a fabulous lily and photograph. Look at the size of those leaves, you could have a picnic on one.

Dear all - many thanks for your kind comments on the Amazon Lily. Ann: the pads can grow to 8 feet across and can hold the weight of an average adult. The flowers measure 12 inches across and the plant stems have been known to be as long as 20 feet when in rising flood waters.

Wow, these are both so beautiful. Th joy of a zoom lens. Your first is just stunning, at first I thought the reflection may have been photoshopped, but then I saw the ripples and lily pad - gorgeous.
