A Gaggle of Geese

I know that my contribution to last week's Skywatch Friday was very
similar to this shot, but I just couldn't help posting this one too!

After the snow ...

Spotted this fascinating "blossom" within Gowlland Tod Provincial Park on Vancouver Island
(which has subsequently been identified as "clematis vitalbae" - many thanks to fellow blogger, MaryAustria)

... and here the Tod Inlet is frozen over

(a regular visitor to the park who was there on the day commented that she has lived
in the area for more than 20 years and has never seen this occur before)

..some funghi

and a frozen/thawing creek

aahh.... so many delights on which to feast the eyes (and camera lens)!

Was it a dream?

Every morning for almost a month, I was greeted by magnificent vistas to start the day on Vancouver Island.
Back home again in suburban Adelaide, I have to ask myself "What is all a dream?"

Downtown Vancouver

Thanks to the generosity of a member of the West Vancouver Seniors
Photography Group who agreed to accompany me on a night shoot during
a brief stopover in Vancouver en route to Vancouver Island,
this shot was taken on one side of Robson Square in Downtown Vancouver at dusk.

With thanks to the hosts of straight out of the camera sunday

A puzzler?

This black item is (I think!) an electronic wall furnace (you can see the rocks
in line along the inside bottom edge), the surface of which is
reflecting back into the room - and there's even a "selfie" hiding behind the bench!

Morning arrival

Here we see the arrival of the Canadian Geese, as they wing their way across Blue Heron Bay
on Vancouver Island.  I was blessed to witness this each morning, as I heard
their honking - heralding their arrival as they flew into the adjacent bird sanctuary.
Once again, snow-dressed Mt Baker (in the US State of Washington)
stands tall and proud in the distance.

Male Hummingbird

This delightful male Hummingbird was one of many whose activities
I enjoyed watching over recent weeks - they are such tiny birds (and such a tease:
whenever I went to change their juice, they would "hummm" around my head,
but as soon as I lifted my camera - even indoors - they got camera shy!)

Our world

This globe was a hanging, rotating display inside a building adjacent to
Vancouver Harbour (near Canada Central I think) and the fact
that I waited until the rotation clearly showed Australia brought a smile
to the face of my night photography guide, Hans!

Mt Baker, Washington

Looking along the length of Blue Heron Bay on Vancouver Island, Mt Baker
(located in the US State of Washington), looms large and majestic on the horizon.

Downtown Victoria

Downtown Victoria, British Columbia - what a fascinating City, especially
on and around Victoria Harbour!
