A day trip out of Geelong led to Bells Beach, a renowned surf beach some 100kms south-west of Melbourne, on the Great Ocean Road near the town of Torquay. Bells Beach is named after John Cavert Bell of the family that first took up a pastoral run there in the 1840s. (credit Wikipedia)
It was a blustery, grey day, but the avid surfers were having a glorious time.
Surprisingly, the sand on the shore was not the usual bright white colour one associates with Australian beaches.
Oops! Maybe Surfing "Down Under" ??!

You got some good action shots there. Not an activity that appeals to me though, I might stand and photograph them from dry land.
ReplyDeleteLove the sea but only from the shore. Lots of action going on there.
ReplyDeleteIt looks great - I wish I had learnt how to surf when I was younger - now I can only admire it!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful photos. They look like they are having fun but it's not something I can ever do myself.
ReplyDeleteEvery day is a good one when you're surfing. Lovely shots.
ReplyDeleteI've never surfed but I rather envy the exhilaration they must feel. Have a fabulous week and thank you for stopping by my blog last week.
